Rep. Eddie Lambert has made his primary
responsibility as state representative the pursuit of road and
transportation infrastructure improvements. In order to address
Ascension's transportation needs, it is important to understand how
the Department of Transportation & Development works and how it
spends its money.
Just under 50% of the Department's
budget are federal funds, most of which can only be used to improve
roads that are "federal aid roads." Ascension parish
has a large number of non-federal aid roads, and Rep. Lambert is
dedicated to expand funding for non-federal aid roads and is dedicated
to re-classifying Ascension roads as "federal aid roads"
whenever possible.
